[Call for Applications] ‘2018 Summer DGIST Research Internship for Undergraduates’

DGIST Research Internship for Undergraduates aims to

provide talented Korean and International students with opportunities to experience research environment of DGIST.

Participants will serve their internship at the lab of their choice under the guidance of DGIST faculty members as visiting research students.

This 6-week research session will provide students with valuable experience in research and personal growth.

Participating international students will have chances to experience Korean culture and society first hand and

will be provided campus-life related assistance during their stay at DGIST.

Accommodations will be arranged for program participants and some allowance will be provided for their accommodation, meals and miscellaneous expenses.

‘Human Research Ethics Training Workshop 4/2018’ on Monday, 23 April 2018, from 1.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. at the Sanan Sumitra Meeting Room, 9th Floor, Office of the President Building, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Bangmod)

The Research, Innovation and Partnerships Office (RIPO) will organize ‘Human Research Ethics Training Workshop 4/2018’ on Monday, 23 April 2018, from 1.30 p.m. – 4.30 p.m. at the Sanan Sumitra Meeting Room, 9th Floor, Office of the President Building, King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (Bangmod). The objective of this workshop is to train foreign staff and students of KMUTT about the importance of human research ethics, human research ethics assessment, and the role of the principal investigator in ethical conduct of research. The Participant must attend all lectures to receive a certificate of participation that is necessary for proposal submission to the Institutional Review Board (IRB)

All foreign academics, researchers and students are welcome to join this training workshop. Please find the attached agenda and register before 19 April, 2018. There are only 60 seats available.

The 2018 National Tsing Hua University Global Summer School (NTHU GSS), Aug 15 to Sept 6, offers 10 courses in the fields of Taiwan’s Foreign Relations, Modern Taiwan History, Literature of Taiwan, Art and Design and Basic Chinese courses. In addition, a one-day culture experience will be arranged to introduce you to various aspects of Taiwanese rich culture. We hope you will join us this summer to make friends from all over the world and to experience Taiwanese culture and society, while enhancing your knowledge in science, engineering, humanities, art and language. We accept no more than 40 participants this year.

Program Schedule: Aug. 15 to Sep. 7, 2018

Program Fee: 1750 USD Including 2 courses, housing fee, two cultural experiece courses and two parties. (charge additional 150 USD if you take overall three courses.)

2nd Summer Course of Green Technology for Sustainable Tropical Agriculture

The 2018 Summer Course Program on Green Technology for Sustainable Tropical Agriculture will be held to understand regional sustainability by means of multifaceted research and technology of sustainable tropical agriculture. The program is arranged to promote talents to find problem and discuss solution independently concerning this science field. In addition, the program is arranged to improve the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, to work in a team that is multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural as well as awareness of the need for lifelong learning including access to information related to current issues. For attaining this purpose, this summer course involves plenary lectures, field practices, technical tours and group discussion toward sustainable tropical agriculture on technology and agricultural engineering perspective.

Programs are generally offered between July and September, and are available in a wide range of disciplines: cultural studies, language proficiency courses, vocational training, entrepreneurship, and more. CAU’s International Summer Program (ISP) is a hybrid program providing students with a window into Korea, where courses are coupled with cultural experiences that foster an understanding of Korea’s Culture and Society. Our program is broken into two sessions, Session 1 and Session 2. Session 1 will provide students with 9 transferable credits while Session 2 will provide students with 5 transferable credits.

Prospective Students: Students who are over 16 year-old and are interested in learning Mandarin and Taiwanese culture.

2019 DUOThailand Fellowship Programme

DUO-Thailand Program is sponsored by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC), Ministry of Education, Thailand with an aim to enhance a mobility of students between Thailand and ASEM member states in Europe on a balanced basis.

The purpose of the programme aims to enhance a balanced mobility of students between Thailand and 30 ASEM member states in Europe by supporting paired-based and two-way exchanges. In this respect, the programme requires that a PAIR (two persons) of students be exchanged in the framework of cooperative project/cooperation between higher education institutions in Thailand and in 30 ASEM Member states in Europe.

Application material: 2019 Duo-Thailand

Application must be submitted through International Affairs Office of KMUTT only.

Note: If student application meets the requirements, the applicant will be called for an interview.

 

How to apply:

  1.  Fill in KMUTT Outbound Exchange Application Form and/ or other required documents.
  2. Consult your advisor about course registration. This is to make sure that the credits taken at the partner institutions can be accepted and transferred back to KMUTT.
  3. Submit KMUTT Outbound Exchange Application Form, along with other required documents to your department.
  4. Your department will screen out and submit the application package to KMUTT International Affairs Office
  5. IA will select, interview and nominate successful candidates to the partner institutions for their final consideration.
  6. IA will announce the result to the department and students.
  7. If accepted, students have to re-consult with their advisor on registration, while feel free to discuss on immigration and other administrative matters with IA.

On behalf of KMUTT RIPO, we would like to invite you to participate in the first KMUTT Industry 4.0 Roundtable- Strategy and Global Positioning.
The event brings together players from KMUTT along the value chain of industry 4.0 for applications in Smart Healthcare, Food/Agriculture, Mobility, and other sectors relevant to Thailand economy.

The proposed  agenda is the following:
1. Identify capabilities of KMUTT research and innovation along the value chain of industry 4.0
2. Identify key innovations and gaps of product development with adoption of industry 4.0
3. Identify key application areas KMUTT should focus
4. Identify industry and international partnership to accelerate KMUTT’s leadership in ASEAN Industry 4.0

German government has invested half a billion euro in building the industry 4.0 platform program and we could be a ASEAN partner for German industry 4.0 platform.

The outcome of this roundtable :
1. Produce marketing materials to showcase KMUTT industry 4.0 capability to attract partner and fundings to enhance and accelerate our innovation
2. Prepare funding proposal to relevant funding parties including government and industry.

Intensive Japanese Language and Culture Course (IJLC) Winter 2019

Duration:

  • Winter 1: Tuesday, January 15, 2019 – Tuesday, February 5, 2019
  • Winter 2: Thursday, February 14, 2019 – Monday, February 25, 2019

Course Contents:

  • Japanese language classes

Qualification:

  • KMUTT full-time student
  • Proficiency in English communication
  • Never visit Japan before
  • GPA > 3.0

  2. Write the statement of purpose about ‘why do you apply for this program?’ (250 words)
  3. Attached with Transcript, Copy of the passport, Resume, Results of English proficiency test (if any)

On behalf of KMUTT, RIPO (Research, Innovation and Partnerships office) would like to invite you to participate in KMUTT Industry 4.0 Roundtable Meeting 2 – Data Science Solutions for Sustainability: Education, Research and Business.

We will have a special guest, Ms. Parvathy Krishnan, a Data Scientist from Jheronimus Academy of Data Science (www.jads.nl), The Netherlands. She is also an entrepreneur running her company DAV, a data science solution provider. She will share with us about the innovative practice of JADS in developing data science education, research and entrepreneurship, as well as a life style of being a data scientist.

In addition, KMUTT STEAM team will present a showcase Smart & Sustainable Agriculture 4.0 which was exhibited at the Asia Development Bank, Asia Youth Forum 2018 in Incheon, Korea during Aug. 8-12, 2018.

We also invite you to share your data solutions that add value to research and business as well as education.
