Short program ‘Island Camp’, Universitas Internasional Batam, Indonesia

UIB, proudly announce that We will conduct our short program ‘Island Camp’
for the 6th time. This is short course program of 10 days in Indonesia.
Batam is located in a very strategic location in the Malacca Strait that is
easily accessed from other countries such as Malaysia and Singapore.
The participants will experience the rich diversity of culture in Indonesia
during this program. 6th Island Camp will be held of February-14 February 2018.

For this program, the optimal class size it 12-18 Persons, with main goal to
having Indonesian Experience, Indonesian Culture Immersion and English
Practice.

Participants will have to pay USD 700/students. This program
covers all the expenses and facilities in the ten days of program. It
includes: Facilities and Programs Development, Program Souvenirs,
Transportation from and to Singapore to Batam and nearby Island, Visa on
Arrival, Buddy during the programs, Three Times Meals / day.

Appendix for supervisors: Hybrid Twinning Program 2018-2019 Appendix

Students or academic staff educated for more than one academic year in the Master’s course (graduate level) or holding the Master’s degree (or its equivalent) are transferred from partner universities to the second year of the Master’s program of Graduate School at SIT.

All students completed the Master’s program at SIT will be designed to enroll in its Doctor’s Program through the entrance examination for the Doctor’s program and study for another three years toward his/her SIT Doctor’s Degree.

Fundamental Eligibility
The applicant must:
– be either a student or an academic staff of the partner universities
– have completed one academic year in the Master’s course (graduate level) at home universities or held the Master’s degree (or the equivalent) as of September 2018
– be under 33 years of age as of April 1st, 2018
– have held academic performance of at least top 10% of the class both at the undergraduate and the graduate level
– have good English skill – preferably 550 scores in TOEFL PBT (or 80 scores in TOEFL iBT)
– be physically and mentally healthy

Financial Support
Support from SIT
– SIT entrance examination fee : 35,000yen
– SIT entrance fee : 260,000yen
– SIT tuition fee : 1,305,000yen/year
– Living allowance: 100,000yen/month, at a maximum for four years starting from October 2018.
– Reward for Leaning Facilitator: 42,000yen/month

This is for students or academic staff in the partner universities who have completed the Master’s course or held the Master’s degree (or the equivalent) as of September 2018. They can apply for the Doctor’s Program at SIT to conduct research activity for three years under the designated supervisors.

Fundamental Eligibility
The applicant must :
– be either a student or an academic staff of the partner universities
– have obtained his/her Master’s degree or the equivalent*3 as of September 2018
– be under 33 years of age as of April 1st, 2018
– have held academic performance of at least top 10% of the course both at undergraduate and graduate level
– have good English skill – preferably 550 scores in TOEFL PBT (or 80 scores in TOEFL iBT)
– be physically and mentally healthy

FULBRIGHT THAI GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM (TGS) FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2019

Up to seven grants will be available for candidates who will commence their graduate level studies in the academic year 2019. This year, Fulbright will provide support for candidates seeking masters and doctoral degrees.

Awards will be offered in a broad variety of fields with the exception of medicine and nursing. Public health and allied subjects with no clinical practices are eligible.

SEAMEO Internship Programme for Students

The Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization (SEAMEO) is a chartered intergovernmental organization established in 1965 among governments of Southeast Asian countries to promote regional cooperation in education, science and culture in the region. SEAMEO develops and nurtures the capacities of teachers and school managers in Southeast Asia through its network of 21 specialist Centres that undertake training and research programme in various fields of education, science and culture.

In order to provide excellent chance for a directed learning experience in regional and international platform for the students through practical work assignments at our SEAMEO Centres and the SEAMEO Secretariat, SEAMEO has launched “SEAMEO Internship Programme for Students” with an aim to nurture young people and to better prepare them for an increasingly globalized world.

Internship Conditions

SEAMEO Units may provide interns with the following funding:

  1. A minimal stipend to partially cover food and incidental expenses depending on the budget of the receiving SEAMEO Units.
  2. Generally, all provisions above are subject to policies of the SEAMEO Units.

United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme

The United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme contributes to peace and development through volunteerism worldwide. UNV work with partners to integrate qualified, highly motivated and well supported UN Volunteers into development programming and promote the value and global recognition of volunteerism.

King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) and United Nations Volunteers (UNV) pilot programme that will focus on deploying KMUTT students as national and international volunteers to develop capacities and meet the development needs of ASEAN partners specifically in Cambodia, Indonesia, Vietnam and Myanmar.

Queensland in July | a short term 3 week program

This is a unique opportunity for a limited group of international students to engage in an intensive short-term program over three weeks in July taught by experts from the UQ Business School. Nagaoka University of Technology (NUT) is currently inviting students from overseas universities to apply for the Nagaoka Summer School for Young Engineers (NASSYE) in 2018. This program is open to students
in their third year of university undergraduate programs. The program also offers students the opportunity to participate in research on topics set by the laboratories at NUT, as well as experience cultural exchange (including joint activities with NUT students)

Program Outline
(1) Field of Study:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical, Electronics and Information Engineering
  • Materials Science and Technology
  • Civil and Environmental Engineering
  • Bioengineering
  • Information and Management Systems Engineering
  • Nuclear System Safety Engineering

(2) Number of Students to be Accepted: 20 students
(3) Program Period: August 20 to August 31, 2018

Participation Fee, Financial and Accommodation Support
The program is free of charge for successful applicants, and will not require any payment of participation
fees. In addition, NUT will provide the following to each participant:
1) Scholarship: JPY 40,000
2) Accommodation in Nagaoka 

Eligibility
Applicants must satisfy the following conditions:

  1. Currently enrolled in the third year of an undergraduate program
  2. Have interest in enrolling in a master’s or doctoral program at NUT in the future
  3. Have at least one of the following certifications of English language proficiency: TOEFL iBT 61 or above, TOEFL CBT 173 or above, TOEFL PBT 500 or above, TOEIC 550 or above, IELTS 5 or above, or Cambridge English 155 or above
  4. GPA 2.50 or above

Application Procedure
(1) Application Documents
Applicants must download the necessary forms from the website below and submit the following:

  2. Certificate of Enrollment (Form B)
  3. Academic Transcript Only the official academic transcript with the institution’s authorized stamp or signature will be accepted. If the applicant is not able to obtain this transcript due to their institution’s regulations, they must obtain a certified true copy of the transcript. Certification must be made by the registrar or a representative of the institution. The administrative office of the institution may send the certificate directly to NUT.
  4. Recommendation Letter The recommendation letter should be written by the applicant’s academic advisor or head of department (or above).
  5. Copy of the English language proficiency test score The required inclusion of a standardized test score in the application can be waived if evidence is provided that the applicant is enrolled at an institution in which the medium of instruction is English.

Intensive Japanese Language and Culture Course (IJLC), Kansai University

Intensive Japanese Language and Culture Course (IJLC) is offered for students enrolled in a university or graduate school outside of Japan. The purpose of this course is to deepen the students’ understanding about Japanese culture and society. This course is offered in the summer and winter for about two to three weeks. In addition to studying about the Japanese language, students are given many opportunities to acquire a closer affinity to Japan through field trips to Kyoto, etc., as well as programs to experience Japanese culture, such as tea ceremonies, and through interactions with Japanese students.

Period: Tuesday, July 3, 2018 – Wednesday, July 25, 2018 (23 days)
